Copa Del Goals
At Goals, we enjoy team bonding activities in the form of an annual tournament across our own estate known as, Copa Del Goals. This is a staff only event to allow our team to learn how to run a successful corporate tournament, but most importantly, get the team together to have fun. There are four main primary heats where our teams are split by region to compete against one another and to decide who from each region then goes on to battle it out to determine an overall Copa Del Goals 2022 champion.
The North region's heat took place in Goals Manchester where 9 teams battled it out to be crowned Team of the North. Their tournament took place on one of the hottest days of the year but that didn't stop Goals Liverpool South from taking the crown. Liverpool North, Chester and Glasgow West will all join them in the main event next month after also doing enough to qualify.
Next to host was Goals Beckenham for the South East regional heat which saw another 9 teams eager for the win. It turned out to be Goals Wimbledon's day as they secured the win. Goals Tolworth took part even after their devastating news on the lead up to the tournament that their beloved team member, Kath had tragically passed away and decided to pay tribute to Kath who was a football lover herself.
The West London tournament took place at Goals Wembley shortly after. In attendance was 8 teams, all with one common goal in mind but it was the current Copa Del Goals 2021 winner, Goals Ruislip who reigned supreme in the end. Justin from Goals Bristol North bagged himself the Player of the Tournament award whilst, sister club, Bristol South walked away with the 'Delivering Less' trophy, an award given to the bottom team as tongue-in-cheek banter.
Last but not least was the Midlands regional heat, taking place at Goals Perry Barr in Birmingham. 10 teams fought hard for the title but it was Goals Star City who were victorious after beating Goals Coventry in the final. Goals Birmingham were the clear stars of the day in the Midlands as their very own Kieron also landed himself Player of the Tournament.
The National Final takes place at Goals Star City on July 13th where the best 16 teams from across the business will fight for the Copa Del Goals 2022 title. North Regional Manager, Andy Shawcross said: “The North Region has always produced results, we might not have the finesse styled by the Brazilians but we know how to get the job done, no matter what. This year the Copa Del Goals winner will be from team north! You heard it here first!”
